Hello and welcome to Rainbow Names, the latest internet home of Carol and Stephen Ogden.

A family business, for over twenty years we have have been providing our personal brand of wooden toys, personalised gifts and names to customers across the length and breadth of Britain. Stephen designs and cuts, Carol paints and finishes and Peter (our son) has helped out here and there over the years and still does when home from college.

Based in Hull, we have now settled down on York Sunday Market (between March and December) and this corner of the 'net. This site shows but a small part of our wares; to see us at our finest visit us in York (map) and say hello.

In addition to the market, Stephen can be found peddling his unique "Pedal Powered Names" on the corner of St Sampson's Square (map) on weekends, highdays and holidays throughout the year so long as it's dry. Stephen doesn't mind getting wet - but the saw does! The "Pedal Powered Names" (and the show) are only available from Stephen in person.

We are trying to be as green as possible. All our own products are made from wood from sustainable sources and we are hoping to move to all FSC woods as soon as possible. All paints and finishes conform to Toy Regulations (even when not toys).

This site will grow and develop over time. Primarily we are offering our Rainbow Names for sale through the shopping cart. If you've seen us in York, you'll know we do a lot more. On the Information page you'll find details of some of our other lines, and how to get in touch with us.
